Everything hurts

In another turn of events I’ve had my second general anaesthetic of March to allow an unscheduled operation. I’m pretty sure I used to be invincible but now I’m not so sure. I’m still itching to get out and about and take the sort of outdoor and travel photographs that I enjoy trying to snap but for now I will have to be patient. Even the stairs are a challenge this week.

We used to live in Aboyne, Royal Deeside in the North East of Scotland, on the very edge of the Cairngorms National park and we enjoyed the rich and varied life it gave our wee family at the time. Eventually I found myself commuting to Edinburgh on a Monday morning and back home again on a Friday and, to accommodate work and to be closer to family, we relocated to the Scottish Borders. Aboyne influenced our destination though. We moved from a town on famous river, surrounded by forests, moors and the endless opportunities to get out and about in the hills to a town on a famous river surrounded by…

Hopefully in a week or two I’ll be out in those hills again.

The attached picture is a phone snap from an iPhone 5s taken near the town on Laurencekirk, Aberdeenshire on one of those commutes. Sometimes the camera you have with you is the best one. Sometimes you have to remember to pick up the good camera more often, just in case an opportunity presents itself.
